Inga M. Brenaman was born December 8, 1890, at Grandpa P.C. Cornelius' home in Clarkfield, Minnesota. (There was an Indian uprising at that time near their home in rural Webster, South Dakota, so Mrs. T.O. Melbostad went to her father's home for a short period of time.) Inga's parents were T.O. and Ingeborg (Cornelius) Melbostad of Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, and confirmed May 13, 1905, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota, by Rev. J.B. Reinertson. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1909 and from Mankato State College in 1910. Inga furthered her education at Mankato State College, Boulder, Colorado and the University of Minnesota. Inga was married to Mr. F.D. Brenaman of Fargo, North Dakota on April 24, 1920. She taught in the elementary grades in various parts of Minnesota for ten years and then was a Mathematics teacher in the Junior High School in Albert Lea, Minnesota, for 34 years. In 1957 on Teachers Recognition Day, she received a Certificate of Merit from Freeborn County and a Silver Serving Tray in "appreciation of devotion to public education and the children of Minnesota" from the Minnesota State Fair. Inga retired in June, 1958 and has been making her home in Owantonna, Minnesota, with her sister Agnes Melbostad since that time. Inga is survived by two sisters: Agnes Melbostad of Owantonna, Minnesota, and Mrs. J.M. Vick of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; thirteen nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was an aunt of Curtis, James and Ed Lynner of Clarkfield Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
