Mrs. Otto (Inez) Thorsteinson, daughter of Carl and Karen (Martinson) Anderson, was born in Boyd, Minnesota, on December 24, 1922. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church of Boyd and later confirmed by Rev. Mahlum at St. John's Church. Inez was married to Otto T. Thorsteinson on May 9, 1948, and to this union a son, Mike, was born. Inez worked as a school and cafe cook and waitress and was an active part of the Boyd community, serving on such organizations as the Oien-Horgen American Legion Post #198 Auxiliary of Boyd, Project Future Committee, and Boyd Community Arts Project Council. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, sewing quilts for her family and her church, baking and coffee time with good conversation. Inez passed away at her home in Boyd on Friday, September 21, 1990, at the age of 67. Surviving Inez are her son, Mike Thorsteinson and his wife, Mary Hedges of Northfield, Minnesota; grandchildren, Patrick, Jason and Nathan Thorsteinson and Erin and Christa Atkinson; one sister, Alvilda Erickson of Boyd; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Anderson of Boyd, Alma Koepp of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Lillian Bot and her husband, Fred of Ivanhoe, Minnesota; along with several Nieces and Nephews. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto on April 21, 1966; two brothers, Narney and Melvin Anderson; and one brother-in-law, Virgil Erickson.
