Obituary

Inez Edna (Allickson) Stringer (June 6, 1923 ~ April 17, 2012) Inez Edna Stringer was born June 6, 1923, to parents Henry and Martha Allickson. She was born in Big Bend, Minnesota, north of Milan. She was the fourth of six children. Inez attended Montevideo School and graduated from the Montevideo High School. Inez married Dale Eugene Stringer, Sr., on November 21, 1944. They were the parents on five children: Lynn, Alvina, Dale Jr., Rayann and Nancee. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Panama where Dale was stationed in the United States Navy. Upon returning to the United States, they lived on farms south of Porter, Minnesota. After leaving farming, Inez and Dale and family moved several times over the following years. Inez worked as a waitress in several cafes, operated Hill Side Store (nine miles west of Clarkfield), and operated Stringer Motor Parts in Montevideo and Clarkfield. She also worked at Luther Haven for many years and the Clarkfield Hospital. She was a member of the Clarkfield Ambulance Team. Following her retirement, she moved with Dale to California and then to Oregon. While living in Oregon, she was very active in the Myrtle Creek Methodist Church and the Food Bank. She returned to Clarkfield in her later years and lived at Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield and when her health started to fail she moved to the Clarkfield Care Center. She passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 11 days. She is survived by four children: Lynn (Ron) Citrowske of St. Leo, Minnesota, Dale (Roxie) Stringer of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Rayann (Jeff) Barr of Sutherlin, Oregon, and Nancee Mason of Mankato, Minnesota. She is also survived by her son-in-law Bruce Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by husband, Dale; daughter, Alvina Anderson; granddaughter, Amy Jo Stringer; her parents; two sisters and three brothers. Blessed be her memory. In Loving Memory of Inez E.
