Ina Geneva (Wilson) Risa (January 26, 1911 ~ March 16, 2011) Ina Geneva Wilson Risa was born January 26, 1911, to parents Gerhard and Cora (Wilson) Wilson in Hazel Run Township of Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized February 26, 1911, at Bergen Lutheran Church by Rev. J. J. Salkus and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church by Rev. A. Haugland on May 10, 1925. She finished the 8th grade in District 82, known as Roadside School and graduated from The School of Agriculture, University of Minnesota at St. Paul with the class of 1930. Ina and Olaf Risa were married on October 8, 1938, at the Hazel Run Parsonage. They lived near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, for 10 years and moved to Hazel Run in 1950. She belonged to one of the first organized 4-H Clubs in Yellow Medicine County. She was a member of Hazel Run Lutheran Church and was active in church activities. She was interested in gardening and flowers, quilting, embroidery and reading. Ina celebrated her 100th birthday at Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield in January and enjoyed the day filled with family and many friends. She became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center in February where she peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the age of 100 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Cora Wilson; husband Olaf E. Risa; sisters: Beverly Thompson, Shirley Allchin; and sons-in-law: Jay M. Levan and James J. Schmidt Sr. She is survived by her children: Kathryn and Dennis Dyrdahl of New London, Minnesota, Ronald and Lori Risa of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Dave and Julie Hard of Alexandria, Minnesota. She is also survived by grandchildren: Beth A. Schmidt, James J. Schmidt, Nathan (and Joanie) Schmidt, Todd (and Lori) Risa, Jeffrey (and Brenda) Risa; great grandchildren: Kathryn Schmidt, Jennifer (and Travis) Levitz, Jamie (and Chris) Terning, Steven Risa, Wyatt, Walker and Waylon Risa; and great-great grandchildren: Parker Levitz and Haley, Avery and McKaylee Terning.
