Ida (Snartum) Rye was born August 16, 1874, near Cottonwood, Minnesota, the daughter of Michael Knutsen Snartum and Ingrid (Toftee) Snartum. She was united in marriage to Chris O. Rye in 1899, near Cottonwood, Minnesota. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gust Alex, in Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years. Her husband, Chris, preceded her in death in December, 1924. Mrs. Rye is survived by two sons: George E. Rye of New Orleans, Louisiana, and William M. Rye of Rochester, Minnesota; five daughters: Mrs. John J. Kolinouski of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Gust Alex of Rochester, Minnesota, Mrs. Gordon J. Schmid of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. George R. Achten of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mrs. Edward W. McCaffrey of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren and great grandchildren. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
