Mrs. Ida Olive (Fosse) Rodness, 90, died March 3, 1988, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 1988, 10:30 a.m., from the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. Organist was Karen Donner and soloist was Debra Wilson. Casket Bearers were Arvey Hanson, Marvin Hegna, Arden Lynne, Jr., Milford Olson, Elmer Walls and Leslie Wilson. Ida was born to Halvor and Mary (Rud) Fosse on February 17, 1898, in Northfield Township of Rice County, Minnesota. She was baptized May 1, 1898, in the Valley Grove Church by Rev. Quammen. When she was very young, she moved with her family to Boyd, Minnesota. After finishing school she was a telephone operator in Boyd until she married Martin H. Rodness of Clarkfield in 1922. She lived in Clarkfield all her married life until she moved to Brookside Manor of Montevideo in September of 1968. Later Ida moved to the Luther Haven Nursing Home. Ida is survived by her two sons, Irving of Annandale, Virginia and Dale and his wife Kathryn of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Hannah Zimmerman of Dassel, Minnesota. Preceding Ida in death was her husband Martin in 1959, her parents and two sisters.
