Ida L. (Hatlen) Vien November 9, 1915 ~ March 25, 2014 Ida Louise Hatlen was born November 9, 1915, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, to parents Roe and Anna (Helgeson) Hatlen. She passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Chippewa County- Montevideo Hospital at the age of 98 years, 4 months and 16 days. Ida was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, where she remained a faithful member her entire life. Ida was united in marriage to Leslie Roger Vien on September 11, 1936, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Les and Ida were the parents of seven children: Beverly, Claire, Roger, Doreen, Inez, Lori and Chuck. They spent their entire life in Clarkfield with Les working at the elevator and Ida working at various restaurants and raising her family. She moved to Montevideo about seven months ago to be closer to her family. Ida loved to quilt, play pinochle, visit with her family, cook and bake, and do 'Circle-a-Word.' Ida was known for her steady penmanship. Her children were very proud of her and her devotion to her family. She is survived by her children: Beverly Judge, Claire Brown, Roger (Diane) Vien, Doreen (Ron) Christensen, Inez Jessen, Lori Haukos, Chuck (Vicki) Vien; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; brother, Robert Hatlen; sister-in-law, Margaret Martin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie (2000); and siblings: Olga Blomquist, Martha Aakvik, Amanda Tollefson, Anne Runke, Norma Hilgert, Nettie Berry and Betty Liljequist.
