Obituary

Mrs. Ida Friedericka August Priebe was born on March 16, 1878, in Trenten Township, near Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of John Koepp and Ernstina (Radtke) Koepp. On April 21, 1878, she was baptized in the name of the Triune God. In September of the same year the family moved to Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, taking up a homestead in the northwest quarter section of the township (now owned by the Roggenbucks). During the first winter there, the family lived in a sod shanty, but the following years saw considerable improvement on the place. When Zion Lutheran Congregation was organized, the family name was among those of the other founders. In 1893, Mrs. Priebe was received into commnicant member with the congregation through the rite of confirmation. On October 24, 1900, she was united in marriage to Gustav Priebe. A short time later the couple moved to the farm just east of the homestead, where they lived their entire lives. (This place is now operated by son, Arnold). To this union four children were born: Ewald of Boyd, Minnesota, Minnie (Mrs. John Loose) of Boyd, Arnold of Boyd, and Adolph of Mora, Minnesota. Mrs. Priebe passed away last Thursday morning, March 29, 1956, after an illness of several months. Her husband preceded her in death on June 11, 1945. Mrs. Priebe reached an age of 78 years, 13 days. In addition to her four children, Mrs. Priebe is survived by three grandchildren: Ordine of Boyd, and Judy and Charles of Mora, Minnesota. There are also six brothers: George Koepp of Boyd, Richard, Herman and Gottlieb Koepp of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, Henry of Brook Park, Minnesota, William of Waite Park, Minnesota. There are two sisters: Clara (Mrs. Henry Rogge) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Martha (Mrs. Ed Reinholt) of Waite Park, Minnesota. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
