Hugo Galow, 90, died Saturday, January 9, 1988, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Services were held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 1988, from the Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield with Pastor Ralph Belin officiating. Organist was Mrs. Karen Donner and soloist was Mr. Ross Riecke. Final Resting Place is Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Casket Bearers were DuWayne Galow, Raymond Lachelt, Marvin Piipke, Paul Piipke, Wesley Thompson and Leon Werner. He was born on December 31, 1897 in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Herman and Margaret (Wiegers) Galow. He was baptized on January 16, 1898 and confirmed on March 13, 1913, both at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township. He attended school at St. John's Parochial of Omro Township. He was married to Lydia Lachelt on December 19, 1929, at Zion Lutheran Church. He farmed in Omro Township most of his life and moved into Clarkfield in the fall of 1952. He is survived by his brother, Walter Galow of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lydia; sister, Lena; and brothers, Adolph, Leo, Ed and Benjamin.
