Howard Gerald Carlson was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on March 17, 1915, to John and Caroline (Christensen) Carlson. He died February 4, 1984. Howard served his country all of World War II. He married Inez Appleseth October 4, 1958. They lived on a farm two miles northwest of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Howard and Inez lost their way in a severe snow storm Saturday evening, as a result they both lost their lives. Howard is survived by two daughters and one son namely Judy Citrowske of Clarkfield, Steven of Montvideo and Kathy Dornbusch of New Ulm, Minnesota; Seven grandchildren, Andy Carlson, Aaron and Alexandra Citrowske, Deborah, Angela, Jonathan and Paul Carlson; one brother Stanley of Clarkfield; three sisters, Ingeborg Olson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Frances Werner of Montevideo, Viola Loose of Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Clayton Carlson. Howard and Inez were two beautiful people and will be greatly missed by their many relatives and friends.
