Hilma Williams was born August 26, 1890, on the Rodness farm near Clarkfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans P. and Anna Marie (Anderson) Rodness. Hans P. Rodness was one of the pioneer farmers in Yellow Medicine County. Hilma passed away at Clarkfield Community Hospital, August 16, 1965, just ten days short of her 75th birthday. In 1890, she was baptized by Rev. Carl Moen of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church and was confirmed in this same church on April 16, 1905, by Rev. J.B. Reinertsen. On March 16, 1921, she was united in marriage to Henry W. Williams by Rev. O.T. Storaasli. To this union was born one son, Walter H. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Williams spent almost all 44 years of their married life in Clarkfield. Besides her husband, Henry, she is survived by her son, Walter; daughter-in-law, Sally; four grandchildren: Linda, Nancy, Stacy and Dan, all of Minneapolis. Other survivors are three sisters: Mabel Rodness of Clarkfield, Mrs. Nettie Raycraft of San Francisco, California, and Lina (Mrs. Carl Fransen) of Minneapolis; and one brother, Peter Rodness of Clarkfield. She was a member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church and was active in church work and in the Ladies Aid. IN MEMORY OF MRS. H. W.
