Hildred Cecelia Afdem was born March 25, 1902, to parents, Carl M. and Mary J. (Johnson) Lundberg in Minnesota. Hildred graduated from St. Cloud Teacher's College and taught school until her marriage, in 1928, to Marvin Afdem. They resided on a farm in Clarkfield until their retirement, in 1954, at which time they moved to Granite Falls. Hildred was active in her church and community groups throughout her lifetime. She will be missed. Hildred C. Afdem passed away on Saturday, November 6, 1993 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wisconsin, at the age of 91. She is survived by nephews: Robert Kolbensvik, Dallas, Texas, and Alan Lundberg, Afton, Minnesota; great nieces, great nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, sister Gladys Kolbensvik, and brother Carl Lundberg.
