Hilda Olson was born July 16, 1898, in Rosewood Township, rural Montevideo to parents John and Mathia Baabergseie Olson. She was baptized by Rev. O.E. Solseth and confirmed by Rev. E.I. Strom at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Watson, Minnesota. On February 3, 1922, she married Clarence G. Olson of rural Boyd. To this union were born three children: Hildegard (Mrs. Arnold Abraham) of New Ulm, Minnesota, Camilla (Mrs. Herbert Wilson) of Boyd, and John Roger of Clarkfield. They farmed in Tyro Township until 1964 when they moved to their present home in Clarkfield. Hilda worked at the Clarkfield Care Center for many years, retiring in 1975. She passed away November 27, 1977, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 79. Survivors include her children; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Jens Arneson and Mrs. Halvor Haugen; three brothers: Elmer, Manley and Nordan Olson, all of Montevideo. Preceding Hilda in death were her parents; her husband in 1976; two sisters: Mrs. Elvin Thomton and Mrs. Albert Thomton; twin brothers: Louis and Isaac Olson; and son-in-law, Herbert Wilson.
