IN LOVING MEMORY OF

(Miller) Nelson
April 28, 1897 – October 20, 1960
Hilda Marie Miller, the daughter of Hans Miller and Maria (Reishus) Miller, was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on April 28, 1897. She grew to young womanhood in this community. She was baptized on June 7, 1897, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 28, 1912, at St. Lucas Church by Pastor T.H. Haugen. On August 2, 1917, she was united in marriage to Axel Peterson and they settled on a farm near Clarkfield. To this union, three daughters were born. The family later moved to Minneota, where they were members of Hope Lutheran Church. While living there she spent much of her time on home nursing cases. On September 18, 1945, she married John Nelson and they settled on his farm near Lamberton, where they resided until January, 1957, when they discontinued farming and moved to Cottonwood. Mrs. Nelson had been in failing health for a number of years, and for the past year and a half had been bedridden most of the time. On October 13, 1960, she was taken to the Granite Falls Hospital having suffered a stroke then and also several more later. She passed away on October 20, 1960, at the age of 63 years. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mildred (Mrs. Olender Danielson), Stella (Mrs. Bruce Weinhold), and Florence (Mrs. Fred Benson); three sisters: Delia and Alice Miller, Celia (Mrs. Conrad Mauland) all of Cottonwood; one brother, Leetoff Miller of Clarkfield; twelve grandchildren; three stepchildren: Mrs. Leslie Larson of Walnut Grove, Minnesota, Mrs. Alice Valentine and Clarence Nelson of Minneapolis; besides numerous other relatives.
