Hilda Guline Harris was born April 30, 1884, at Hanley Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Aletta (Haroldson) Joel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church, where she has been a member throughout her life. On November 24, 1904, she married Julian Harris and they made their home in Hanley Falls. To this union were born three sons: Vernon, Stanley and Harold; and three daughters: Arloine (Mrs. H.C. Brown) of Northfield, Minnesota, Ada (Mrs. Roy Lee) of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Ruth of Minneapolis. She is survived by four children: Harold, Arloine, Ada and Ruth; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law: Mrs. Dorothy Harris and Mrs. Judith Harris of Hanley Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian, in 1948, and two sons, Vernon and Stanley. She passed away in her sleep, February 25, 1979, at the Clarkfield Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past seven years. IN MEMORY OF HILDA G.
