Hilda Mathilda (Hermanson) Fjerkenstad was born in Ten Mile Lake Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, on June 12, 1885. She passed away on January 11, 1973, at the age of 87 years. She was the only child of Ole and Ellen Janette (Forberg) Hermanson. She was baptized July 13, 1885, and confirmed May 20, 1900. On January 1, 1931, she was united in marriage to Anton Fjerkenstad. The couple resided on a farm southwest of Boyd until they entered Luther Haven on Agust 29, 1966. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd and an honorary member of the Trinity L.C.W. She is survived by her husband, Anton, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
