Hilda Brusven Fyksen was born on May 17, 1900 to parents Mr. and Mrs. Hokken Brusven on their farm in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized and later confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church of Normania Township. She attended the Lone Star Country School. Hilda married Edward Fyksen on July 19, 1922. They moved to Minneapolis were Edward worked for the University of Minnesota as a Maintainance Supervisor and Hilda worked for the Twin City Arsenol during the war. Edward passed away in February 1982. Hilda enjoyed fancy work and reading. She was a resident of the New Brighton Care Center, where she passed away on Friday morning, April 7, 1995 at the age of 94 years, 10 months, and 10 days. She is survived by her son Charles and wife, Edith, of Minneapolis, three grandsons: Elaine, Bruce and Todd Fyksen; seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson and a special niece, Laverna Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward and son Robert. Blessed be her memory.
