Hilda Josephine Dotseth Johnson was born in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, June 15, 1888, the daughter of Andrew Dotseth and Lizzie (Fredrickson) Dotseth. In infancy she was baptized in the Lutheran faith. She spent the early years of her life on her parents' farm south of Clarkfield. On August 9, 1903, she was confirmed in Spring Creek Lutheran Church by Rev. John Salhus. She attended public school in Normania and Clarkfield. For several years she was a member of the Spring Creek Church choir and the ladies aid. During her younger years she was very active in the Spring Creek Pige Forening. On December 20, she was united in marriage to Jonas Johnson of Montevideo. To this union two children were born, namely Abner and Milton. After their marriage they resided in Montevideo for a few months and then they moved south of Clarkfield and farmed for several years. In 1931 the family moved to Clarkfield and with the exception of a few months she resided there her entire life. She became ill shortly after her husband's death in 1950. She rallied many times until her calling at the Granite Falls Hospital Sunday night, November 23, 1958. She leaves to mourn her departure, two sons, Abner and wife of Mankato, Minnesota, and Milton of Granite Falls; one brother, Alfred Dotseth of Granite Falls; and three sisters: Mrs. Annie Larson of Clarkfield, Mrs. Mamie Knox and Mrs. Ludwig Hanson of Granite Falls; besides many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She was a kind and loving mother and sister and will be greatly missed. God bless her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
