Hilda Aasen Olson, 88, died Monday, April 21, 1986, at the Clara City Nursing Home, Clara City, Minnesota. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 1986, at the Israel Lutheran Church of Swede Prairie Township, rural Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. The organist was Mrs. Eugene Werner with soloist Ella Holmquist. Casket Bearers were Lynn Berg, Mike Aasen, Gene Aasen, Richard Aasen, Mark Aasen and Bruce Aasen. Final Resting Place is the Israel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was born August 23, 1897, in Clarkfield to Jorgen and Christina (Amundson) Forberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church. She married Bernt Aasen in 1920 and they made their home on a farm southwest of Clarkfield, where they resided until his death in 1947. She married Oscar Olson in 1959 and lived in Clarkfield until Oscar's death. They joined the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo, Minnesota, and later to the Clara City Nursing Home. She was a member of Israel Lutheran Church for many years and she held several offices in the Ladies Aid. She worked as a cook at the Clarkfield School and at the Clarkfield Hospital for many years. She is survived by sons, Leon and wife Vivian of Mound, Minnesota, and Delmar and wife Deloria of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one daughter Arda and husband Arthur Berg of Willmar, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister Evelyn of Burbank, California.
