Obituary

Herman Rupp was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on February 20, 1884, to parents John and Gertrude (Byer) Rupp. At the Mary Hill Visistation Church near there, he was united in marriage to Maggie Thiel. The union was blessed with ten children. Mr. Rupp farmed throughout his life, living in the communities of Cherokee, Iowa; Howard, South Dakota; Hazel Run, Minnesota; Rochester, Minnesota; and Granite Falls, Minnesota. Herman passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 1970, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years. Surviving are six children, namely: Mildred (Mrs. Clarence Monson) and Glen of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Mrs. Marie Ernston, Dorothy (Mrs. Ed Rude) and Marjorie Rupp of Minneapolis, and Vernon of Clarkfield, Minnesota; eighteen grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie in June of 1956; four sons: Elmer, Kenneth, Hermy and Vincent; one grandson, Milfred; his parents; seven brothers and two sisters. IN MEMORY OF HERMAN J.
