Obituary

Herman Peter Eischens was born February 4, 1923, in Burton Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of John and Magdalena (Baierl) Eischens. He died Saturday, June 5, 1982, at the Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, Minnesota, at the age of 59. Herman was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church in St. Leo, where he also attended school. He was engaged in farming for many years. Herman had been a member of St. Leo Men's Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and served on the Taunton Elevator Board. In 1975 he moved to Glenwood, Minnesota, were he was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He married Ethel Westre on September 18, 1976, in St. Leo. Following their marriage they made their home at Silver Beach, Lake Minnewaska near Glenwood, Minnesota. Herman is survived by wife, Ethel; three step-sons: Lane and his wife Janet of Spicer, Minnesota, Chris and his wife Betty of Rogers, Minnesota, and Dean of Dawson, Minnesota; three grandsons; mother, Lena Eischens of St. Leo; four brothers and seven sisters: Mrs. Martin (Sue) Beck of Taunton, Minnesota, Mrs. Josephine Troye of St. Paul, Minnesota, Joe Eishcens of Dawson, Minnesota, Mrs. Albert (Genevieve) Jelen of St. Leo, Mrs. Henry (Florence) Braun of St. Leo, Mrs. William (Magdalene) Kapolcznski of New Ulm, Minnesota, Clarence Eischens of Minneota, Minnesota, Mrs. Eugene (Bernice) Roles of Minneota, Minnesota, Mrs. Sylvestor (Lillian) Sanow of Minneota, Minnesota, Mervin Eischens of St. Leo, Sylverius Eischens of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.M. Eischens and three nephews. IN MEMORY OF HERMAN P.
