Herman Albert Zietlow, Jr., was born to Herman Zietlow, Sr. and Louise (Thierfeld) Zietlow February 11, 1911, at Springfield, Minnesota. At the age of three he moved with his family to Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized at Springfield and confirmed at the Tyro Lutheran Church on July 5, 1925. On May 1, 1938, Herman was united in marriage to Ruth C. Koepp. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Delbert of Boyd, Minnesota, and Linda (Mrs. Gordon Hagen) of Northwood, North Dakota. Herman and his wife farmed in this area for many years. Herman passed away June 30, 1978, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, at the age of 67 years, after a lingering illness. Mr. Zietlow is survived by his son and daughter; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Leonard of Minneapolis; three sisters: Elsie of Clarkfield, Helen of Boyd, and Hulda, also of Clarkfield. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ruth, in 1962; three brothers: Erwin, Alfred and Albert; and one sister, Alma.
