Herbert A. Beecher, a lifelong area farmer, died at the Graceville, Minnesota Hospital October 20, 1983. Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 24, 1983, at 2:00 p.m. from the Spring Creek Lutheran Church in Normania Township with Pastor Ted Kunze officiating. Elsie Carlson and Inez Carlson sang two solos, and Ella Larson was organist. Final Resting Place is the Spring Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Casket Bearers were Ted Beecher, Willis Beecher, Mervin Anderson, Wayne Appleseth, Dale Appleseth and Emil West. Herbert August Beecher was born April 8, 1885, in Canby, Minnesota, to Theadore and Bertha (Tesch) Beecher. He was married to Jennie Carlson in March of 1922. He is survived by his children: Mrs. LeRoy (Lorraine) Appleseth of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mrs. Jay (Doris) Anderson of Watertown, South Dakota, Mrs. Harriet Oman of Burbank, California, Janice, Leonard, Virgil and Floyd all of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Roger of Rush City, Minnesota. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
