He then entered Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and later returned to his parents' home and was engaged in farming. On April 25, 1925, he was united in marriage to Edna Olson at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. The Johnsons farmed southwest of Clarkfield for seventeen years, and then moved to the farm now owned by Velmin Larson, where they lived six years. In 1947, they purchased a farm four and one- half miles west of Clarkfield where they lived until 1960, when they moved to their present home in Clarkfield. Henry was a charter member of the Victor Hegge Post of the American Legion at Garvin and then transferred his membership to the J. Ben Johnson Post at Clarkfield where he has since been a member. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in 1951. Although an invalid, he continued his interest in his church and community activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin B. Johnson; one infant brother, Hjalmer, and one granddaughter, Mary Lynn Knutson, who passed away September 9, 1961.
