Henry Alfred Jacobson was born March 18, 1889, in Minnesota, the son of Hans and Annie (Kittelson) Jacobson. He was united in marriage to Mathilda "Tillie" Cornelius on September 6, 1914, and were blessed with one son, Henry, Jr. For many years, Henry was manager of the Clarkfield Shipping Association and he started the first trucking business in Clarkfield. He followed his parents' footsteps in operating the meat market and grocery business on the northwest corner of Clarkfield main square where he faithfully worked until his retirement in 1960 when he sold the business. Henry was a member of the Clarkfield Fire Department for many years and served the department very well. He also served many years as deputy sheriff of Yellow Medicine County and was active in fraternal organizations. His wife, Tillie, passed away March 23, 1960, after being confined to a wheel chair for 31 years, the result of polio. Henry spent much of the past few years with his son, Henry, Jr., and family at Brainerd, Minnesota. Mr. Jacobson passed away July 23, 1963, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years. He is the last member of his family to depart this life. His parents, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. They include Amanda (Mrs. Carl Meyers), Josie (Mrs. Carl Korth) and Bert Jacobson. He will be greatly missed by his son, Henry, Jr; his daughter-in-law, Donna; and four grandchildren: Lynn, Yvette, Dick and Laura Jo. IN MEMORY OF HENRY A.
