Henrik Miller Vik was born February 17, 1911. He was the eighth child of nine born to Mons T. O. Vik and Kathrina S. Hanson Vik. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota. On August 15, 1936, he married Charlotte L.
