Obituary

Helmer L. Hveem, of Boyd, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 12, 1984, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, Minnesota. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, May 15, 1984, 11:00 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd with Pastor Scott Jorgenson officiating. Final Resting Place is the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Boyd, Minnesota. He was born January 19, 1900, in Boyd to Jens and Lina (Hermanson) Hveem. He was baptized on February 21, 1900, by Pastor Olaus Martinius and confirmed on July 18, 1915, by Pastor E. O. Eid in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd. On March 10, 1926, he married Anna Wiegers at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He farmed in his early years and later sold and hauled gravel in the Boyd area. He was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, member of the Boyd Boosters Club, Boyd Rod and Gun Club and was on the Cemetery Board. He is survived by wife Anna, sister Olga Fjerkenstad, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Martha and Mary and brothers Joseph and Bernard (Bernie). At the funeral the organist was Minnie Hermanson with vocal music by Pastor Jorgenson. Casket Bearers were Jennings Agre, Arne Berg, Noble Evenson, Roy Hofmann, Merril Knutson and Ordell Zietlow.
