Helga Norgaard was born July 13, 1885, in Kveidsied, Telemarken, Norway, daughter of Olav and Gro Norgaard. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Norway and came to America as a young woman in 1905. She worked as a maid at several homes near Hazel Run and seven years at the C.S. Orwoll residence in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She then went to Minneapolis where she had worked at various places. She returned to her native land several times for visits and the last time just seven years ago. She passed away at the Granite Falls Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 18, 1966, after being a resident there for the past three years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Endre and Tarold of Hazel Run and Mikkel in Norway. One brother, Hans of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews survive her.
