Helen Dahl Kise was born April 3, 1890, near Hills, Minnesota, to parents Peter H. and Inga (Severson) Bly. She was baptized April 26, 1890, and confirmed in April, 1906, in the Lutheran faith. She completed her public education in Cottonwood, Minnesota, and later taught in rural schools. On August 22, 1912, she was united in marriage to Clarence Peter Dahl at Cottonwood. Following their marriage they attended the Universal School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating, they practiced in Cottonwood and later moved to Canby and practiced until the death of Clarence on April 16, 1936. On June 19, 1938, she was united in marriage to Niel M. Kise of Cottonwood and moved back to Cottonwood that summer. Niel passed away on March 5, 1943. Mrs. Kise passed away August 22, 1980, at the Minneota Manor, Minneota, Minnesota, at the age of 90 years. Survivors are her daughter, Sibyl (Mrs. David Bridge) of Wasco, California; son, Curtis Bly Dahl of Cottonwood; step-son, Jerule Kise of Brainerd, Minnesota; three grandsons; five granddaughters; one step-grandson; one step-granddaughter; 12 great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Gertrude Dahl of Cottonwood and Mrs. Eva Hatlestad of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; three sisters: Julia, Martha and Pearl; three brothers: John Helge and James.
