Helen Louise Kirkeby Anderson was born January 2, 1920, in Lisbon Township of rural Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Inga and Olaus M. Kirkeby. She was baptized February 1, 1920, and confirmed May 6, 1934, at Clarkfield Lutheran Church of which she was a lifetime member. She graduated from Clarkfield High School and attended Calhoun Business School. On March 23, 1940, she was united in marriage to Waldemar H. Anderson, at the Olaus Kirkeby farm. To this marriage were born six children: Dean, Ingrid, Donna, Elizabeth, W. Neil and Rebecca. She enjoyed her family and friends, quilting, painting, bowling, cooking, and Homemaker's Club. She passed away August 6, 1991, at the age of 71 years from acute leukemia. She is survived by her husband, Waldemar H. Anderson; her children: Ingrid and her husband Douglas Trandahl of Circle Pines, Minnesota, and their sons Joel and David; Donna and her husband Richard Christopherson of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and their sons Chad and Ryan; Elizabeth and her husband James Kunkel of Victoria, Minnesota, and her children Daniel, Rhonda, and Gary Anderson; W. Neil Anderson and his wife Linda Glee of Anchorage, Alaska and their daughter Kerry; Rebecca and her husband Tommy Listul of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and their children Heather and Taylor; brother, Lloyd Kirkeby of Clarkfield, Minnesota; sisters, Marian Hanson of Clinton, Minnesota, Charlotte Vik of San Antonio, Texas, Grace Wold of Palo Alto, California, Dorothy Peterson of Palo Alto, California; mother-in-law, Julia Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Irving Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Mrs. Leroy (Joan) Nelson of Willmar, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Inga and Olaus M. Kirkeby; son, Dean Anderson; brothers, Harry Kirkeby and Juel Kirkeby; sister-in-law, Alfild Anderson; step-mother, Rachel Kirkeby; father-in-law, Ingvald Anderson.
