Helen Ruby (Jorgenson) Christopherson was born on Syttende Mai, May 17, 1916, in Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to parents George and Mathilda (Axnes) Jorgenson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Lac qui Parle County. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1934. Following graduation, Helen worked in the ASC Office in Morris, Minnesota. Helen married Hiram Christopherson on June 4, 1939, at St. Petri Church. Hiram and Helen lived in Mound, Minnesota, until 1941. They then farmed near Clarkfield, Minnesota, until retirement. Helen had been a resident at Luther Haven Home in Montevideo, Minnesota, for several years. Helen passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 18 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and husband Hiram in 2003. Helen is survived by sons: Bruce (and Helen) and Richard (and Donna) of Clarkfield and daughter Barbara (and David) Kleven of Wayzata, Minnesota. Also surviving are grandsons Chad (and Rebecca) Christopherson and children Aidan and Bryce of Tacoma, Washington, Ryan (and Kris) Christopherson and children Jakob, Shelby and Ellie of Clarkfield and Andrew Kleven of Wayzata and sisters Lorraine Marienau of Montevideo and Delores Christenson of Menominee, Wisconsin. "Mom was a wonderful, loving, kind and selfless person who loved her family unconditionally. She delighted in her three grandsons and five great grandchildren. Mom loved her home, her gardens, her kitchen, coffee, her church, friends and her Lord. She enjoyed baking many kinds of cookies, lefse and flatbread and sharing with friends and family. Mom - you were the wind beneath our wings and we will be together again."
