Hazel Sack Nelson was born April 29, 1906, in Baxter Township to Chris and Bertha (McMullen) Sack. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. E.C. Eid and remained a faithful worker in the church. She was graduated from the Boyd High School and the Clarkfield Teachers Training. She taught school in rural areas in the Boyd vicinity for several years. On June 10, 1933, she was united in marriage to Carl A. Nelson by Rev. Martin Lien. She lived in the Boyd community until the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Carl, of Boyd; one brother, Lyman Sack of Minneapolis; four sisters: Frances Sack of Boyd, Cora (Mrs. Peder Lund) of Wausau, Wisconsin, Florence (Mrs. Cecil Benton) of Worthington, and Helen Sack of Minneapolis; two nieces and seven nephews; eleven grand nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Sack and one sister, Lyla (Mrs. Selmer J. Olson). Mrs. Nelson passed away January 3, 1964, at the Dawson Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota, at the age of 57 years. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
