(Bergstrand) Johnson
July 10, 1918 – March 23, 2004
Hazel P. (Bergstrand) Johnson was born on July 10, 1918, at Kerkhoven, Minnesota, to parents Alfred and Anna (Fanberg) Bergstrand. She attended the Kerkhoven Public School. Hazel married Leland Johnson on February 27, 1940. They were the parents of three sons and two daughters: Gary, Richard, David, Barbara and Sue. The Johnsons moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, in April of 1955, where Leland was employed by Mork's Hardware. Hazel enjoyed being home with her family. She liked sewing and embroidery work. She also did much reading, especially her Bible. She was a member of the Kerkhoven Baptist Church, Benson Baptist Church and Clarkfield Alliance Church. Hazel became a resident at the Clarkfield Care Center in February of 2003, following a fall and a broken hip. She passed away at the Care Center on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 13 days. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leland of Clarkfield; and her children: Gary of Clarkfield, Richard (and Sandra) of Bloomington, Minnesota, David (and Connie) of Eagen, Minnesota, Barbara Morain of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sue (and Roland) Olson of Blaine, Minnesota. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister Victoria Rodi. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and one brother. Blessed be her memory.
