Harry J. Nuytten was born June 6, 1920 near Ghent, Minnesota to parents Con and Veona (Dobblaere) Nuytten. He attended school in Ghent. Harry farmed with his family until he entered the United States Army. He served in Foreign Service from April 20, 1945 to August 10, 1946. Harry married Mary A. Maeyaert on September 18, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy, Minnesota. They farmed near Marshall and moved to his present farm in 1959. Harry will be remembered for his love of the farm and livestock. He raised cattle for many years. He was a member of the Anderson-Tongen American Legion Post 559 of Hazel Run, Minnesota. Harry passed away on his farm on Friday, January 23, 1998 at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 19 days. He is survived by wife, Mary, of Marshall, daughter Jennie of Spicer, MN, son Jerry of Clarkfield, MN, and daughter Jackie of Marshall. He is also survived by grandchildren Cassie, Stephanie, Stephen, and Mark, brother Joe Nuytten, and sisters Marguerite Nuytten and Julia Van Overbeke. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and two infant children.
