Leppke

Harry M. Leppke was born on May 24, 1927, rural Minneota, Minnesota, to parents Fred T. and Martha C. (Roske) Leppke. He was one of five siblings. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church on June 12, 1927, by Pastor Rufus Young and confirmed on June 1, 1941, by Pastor A.W. Fuerstenau. Harry attended St. John's Parocial School and District #49. He served in the United States Army. He enlisted on April 26, 1946, at Ft. Snelling and was honorably discharged on April 19, 1947, at Camp Beale, California. Harry returned home and joined his brothers in farming. Harry was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as Trustee for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tilling of the soil. Harry suffered a heart attack in 1994 and since August of 1999 his health has failed. He spent much time in hospitals since then and passed away on Thursday, October 21, 1999, at the Sioux Valley Canby Campus Hospital, Canby, Minnesota, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 28 days. He is survived by his sister, Lydia (and husband Erhardt) Koepp of Minneota, Minnesota; brothers: Arnold (and wife Elna) of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Edmund and Victor of rural Minneota, Minnesota. He is also survived by two nephews Dennis (and Sheila) Koepp and Arlen (and Julie) Koepp. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephews: Lyle Leppke, Donald Leppke, and Virgil Koepp. Blessed be his memory.
