Obituary

Harry C. Anderson was born in Tyro Township, Boyd, Minnesota on August 18, 1915 to parents Albert and Nellie (Rudell) Anderson. He was baptized on September 6, 1915 and confirmed June 16, 1929 at Augustana Lutheran Church. Harry served in the United States Army from 1941-1945. He served in World War II in the European Theatre 3rd Army and spent one year in Iceland. Harry married Elda Laechelt on June 29, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church. They farmed until their retirement and then moved to Clarkfield in 1985. He was an active member of the American Legion and Zion Lutheran Church. Harry passed away on Wednesday morning, December 20, 1995 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 3 days. He is survived by his wife Elda, son David (and Carol) Anderson of Delano, Minnesota, daughter Janell (and Dan) Sjurseth of Boyd, Minnesota, and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Myrtle (and Helmer) Appelwick of Montevideo, Minnesota, sister Albertha Johnson of Clarkfield, brother Art (and Minnie) Anderson of Clarkfield, sister Anna (and Elmer) Anderson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, sister-in-law Clara Laechelt of Mankato, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Nellie Anderson, stepmother Jennie Willander Anderson, and sisters: Helen and Alpha Anderson, Alice (Heimer) Johnson, and Dora (Clifford) Dotseth.
