Harold Schuler, 69, died Monday, December 28, 1987, at his home. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 1988, at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, Granite Falls, Minnesota, with the Rev. John Bjorge and Rev. Orlando Gunderson officiating. Soloist was Leo Sebring and organist was Elenor Sandquist. Casket Bearers were his nephews, Ken Schuler, Larry Schuler, Chad Schuler, Harold Olson, Gerald Lewison and (cousin) John Bassett. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of his grandchildren: Vicki, Todd, Terry, Tammy, Missy, Tony, Lisa, Steven, Jason, Katie, Nathan, Noami, Amy. Final Resting Place is Fort Snelling National Cemetary, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Military rites were by the V.F.W. Post 69 of Granite Falls, Minnesota. Harold Wiliam Schuler was born on February 3, 1918, in Madison, Minnesota, the son of Walter and Hepziabeth (Doncaster) Schuler. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was a member of Legion Post 69 for 41 years and Farmers Union for 25 years. He attended District 106 School and was a World War II Veteran. On December 12, 1913, he married Betty Lou Hoptry in Pleasanton, California, and they returned to Granite Falls in 1945. He resumed farming in 1954 and retired in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Schuler of Granite Falls; his daughter, Mrs. Dianne Dvergsten of Montevideo, Minnesota; sons, Bill, Bob and David of Granite Falls; son-in-law, Daryl Dvergsten; daughters-in-law, Dawn and Lori; 13 grandchildren; sisters Dora Olson of Granite Falls, Mary Lou Smith of Hollaway, Minnesota; brothers, Earl of Madison, Minnesota, and Mervin, Robert and Howard of Granite Falls; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one grandson. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
