Harold Alan Newell was born September 28, 1902, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Frank and Ida Newell. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in Dayton, where he also attended school. He went on to Carnegie Tech and graduated there as an electrical engineer. He began his career at the Kelvinator Corporation and went on to the Crosley Corp. in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was general manager of the Service Department for 14 years. The last five years he was an engineer with the American Bosch Arma Corp. of Garden City, Long Island, New York. He passed away on July 12, 1961, at Mineola, Long Island, New York. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Friberg) Newell; his father, Frank, of Dayton, Ohio; three sons: Donald, Alan and Dale of California.
