IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold Wayne
Kopitzke
July 5, 1933 – February 20, 1961
Harold Wayne Kopitzke was born July 5, 1933, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Judith (Reese) Kopitzke. He was baptized on July 30, 1933, by Rev. Henry Albrecht and confirmed on June 22, 1947, by Rev. Fuerstenau. Harold was killed in an accidental fall on the farm operated by the Earl Fooths on February 20, 1961, at the age of 27 years. Harold spent his entire life at home helping on his dad's farm except for two years while he was in the U.S. Army. At present he was operating the farm of his aunt, Mrs. Ida Laechelt and another farm. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kopitzke; four sisters and one brother: Norma (Mrs. Loren Kettner) of Minneapolis, Lilah (Mrs. Eugene Rasmussen) of Lynd, Minnesota, Dorothy, Evelyn and Donald at home; one niece and one nephew, Terry and Eugene Rasmussen, Jr.; besides a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. One sister, Donna preceded him in death. In a condolence letter to the family, Warren A. Sletten, Lt. Col. Of the National Guard paid tribute to Harold: "He was a conscientious National Guardsman and eagerly sought to accomplish every task that he was given in a cheerful and diligent manner. His earnestness and loyalty won for him the friendship of all his fellow guardsmen and the respect of his superiors." IN MEMORY OF HAROLD W.
