"Hago" Friberg
August 20, 1915 – June 9, 1991
Harold Friberg passed away suddenly on June 9, 1991, at his home at the age of 75. Harold, or Hago, as he was known to his family and friends, was born August 20, 1915, to Swen and Amanda (Willander) Friberg at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized December 5, 1915, and confirmed March 29, 1931, in the Lutheran faith. He was a long time resident of this community. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in England during World War II. Hago served from July 3, 1941 to October 20, 1945. On October 18, 1952, he married Alfhild Anderson. To this union two children were born: Jim and Alan. Hago operated the East Side Texaco until 1959, at which time he became a custodian for the Clarkfield School District. He retired in 1978. Hago enjoyed fishing on Lake Miltona, reading, watching the Twins Baseball Team, and being a Grandpa. He lived at Valhalla Apartments for the past three years. He is survived by Jim and wife Julie, and grandson Anthony of Menomonie, Wisconsin; Alan of Deerwood, Minnesota and Alan's friend, Mae Carrow of Granite Falls, Minnesota; one brother Chet (Renetta) of Montevideo, Minnesota; sisters, Fidelia (Gene) Crumrine of the Seattle, Washington area, Marcella (Milo) Mickelson of St. Peter, Minnesota; Gwen Bollard of the Seattle, Washington area; mother-in-law Julia Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; friend Ardith Dotseth of Clarkfield, Minnesota; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Hago is preceded in death by his parents; wife Alfhild in 1967; brothers, Victor, Myron, Sid, Ray and Arthur at age six years.
