Obituary

Harold Carleton Larson was born March 28, 1931, to Harold and Edna (Wangsness) Larson in Ten Mile Lake Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota. On December 17, 1955, he married Dorothy Olson of Montevideo, Minnesota, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Montevideo. To this union six children were born; Greg, Brad, Brian, Gail, Bonnie and Gwen. He farmed the family farm one half mile south of Boyd most of his life. Harold was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Oien-Horgen American Legion Post #198 of Boyd and the Strand-Saboe V.F.W. Post #5247 of Dawson, Minnesota. Harold enjoyed hunting with his sons and fishing with the family. Riding and working with horses was a special interest for Harold. Harold died suddenly on Saturday, March 30, 1991, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital emergency room at the age of 60 years. Surviving Harold are his wife, Dorothy of Boyd; three sons, Greg Larson of Willmar, Minnesota, Brad Larson and his wife, Pamela of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Brian Larson of New York; one daughter, Gail Larson, D.V.M. of Princeton, Minnesota; two grandsons, Josh and Eli; his mother, Edna Larson of rural Boyd; one sister, Donna Reek and husband, Harold of Clarissa, Minnesota; one brother, Alan Larson and wife, Elaine of Willmar, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
