H. Christian Lynner was born November 23, 1888, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Jens H. and Ingebor (Rognstad) Lynner. When he was four, the family moved to Clarkfield. Mr. Lynner attended the village school, and was confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. On July 11, 1917, he was married to Clara Melbostad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thron Melbostad of Boyd, Minnesota. The young couple made their home on a farm one mile west of Clarkfield, where he has since lived. Mrs. Lynner passed away away March 29, 1941. In addition to extensive farming operations west and south of Clarkfield, Mr. Lynner participated in many community activities. He was a member of the creamery board for 25 years, served as secretary for Clarkfield Lutheran Church for nine years and was active in the Farm Bureau, Red Cross and other organizations. He also served as substitute rural mail carrier for 42 years. Mr. Lynner passed away March 13, 1959, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 70 years. Surviving are three sons, two daughters and 13 grandchildren: Curtis and James of Clarkfield, Ed of Minneapolis, Marian (Mrs. Robert Nord) of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Margaret (Mrs. Robert Gordon) of Willmar, Minnesota. Also surviving are two brothers, John and Ingval of Clarkfield, and a sister, Mrs. Ingine Meves, of Minneapolis. He was a kind and loving father, good neighbor, loyal to his church and helpful in any place where he could lend a hand. Blessed be his memory. IN MEMORY OF H. C.
