Hans Christian Hansen was born on June 28, 1885, at Schrods Trup, Mariager, Denmark, to Marie and Rasmus Hansen. He came to America in 1906 with his brother, Olaf S. Hansen, to work as a streetcar conductor in Minneapolis. It was there he was married to Anna Thon on November 19, 1913. One son was born to this union, Herbert Clinton. The family moved to a farm in Westerheim Township, Lyon County, Minnesota, where they lived for nearly 50 years. In 1962, they moved to Clarkfield where they purchased a home and have since resided. He has been at the Clarkfield Nursing Home since 1966. Hans was converted and baptized in the lake at Cottonwood about 1929. He was a charter member of the Clarkfield Gospel Tabernacle and a great help and inspiration to the church throughout the years. He passed away on November 20, 1968, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Herbert; a brother, Olaf; and a sister, Martina. Surviving him are his wife, Anna, a brother and sister in Denmark as well as a host of friends. IN MEMORY OF H. C.
