Hans Marius Anderson, son of John C. and Dorothy (Jensen) Anderson, was born December 19, 1878, near Oslo, Norway. The family came to America in 1878 and settled at Kankakeee, Illinois. In 1902 he was united in marriage to Johanna Anderson. The young couple lived at Ellendale, North Dakota, several years before moving to Hanley Falls on a farm east of town, where they spent the greater portion of their lives. He passed away at the Olivia Hospital, Olivia, Minnesota, Thursday, September 19, 1957, after three days of hospitalization. He is survived by five children: Herman of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, John and Ole of Hanley Falls, Norman of Minneapolis, and a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Loomis of St. Paul; 21 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four brothers: Dan of Miles City, Montana, Oscar and Frank of Ellendale, North Dakota, and John of Hanley Falls; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Jay of Fairfax, Minnesota, and Mrs. Annie Sorenson of Rapid City, South Dakota.
