Hannah Esther Evenson was born February 10, 1919, to parents Gabriel and Barbara (Fenn) Haaland in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized April 27, 1919, by Rev. P.O. Wee at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was confirmed May 13, 1934, by Rev. J.E.H. Akre at the Spring Creek Luthean Church. She was united in marriage to Noble Evenson of Dawson, Minnesota, by Rev. I.O. Melom of Montevideo on December 30, 1939. To this union four daughters were born namely Naomi, Phyllis, Margareth and Gail. They resided in the Boyd community except for four and one-half years at LeCenter, Minnesota. She submitted to surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, and later entered the Clarkfield Hospital where she passed away Friday afternoon, October 9, 1964, at the age of 45 years. During her lingering illness she suffered much but was very patient, never complained and was a source of comfort to those around her. She was preceded in death by her father, Gabriel, in 1929, and one brother, Ole, who passed away at the age of 18 months. She is survived by her husband, Noble of Boyd, and four daughters: Naomi (Mrs. Jerry Smith) of Sparks, Nevada, Phyllis (Mrs. Roger Stavne) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Margareth (Mrs. Clyde Sveback) of LeCenter, Minnesota, and Gail at home. Also her mother, Mrs. Barbara Haaland of Clarkfield, and ten brothers and sisters, namely: Mrs. Christine Aakvik of Hovland, Minnesota, Gustav of Clarkfield, Kenneth of Kerkhoven, Minnesota, Minnie (Mrs. Orren Christensen) and Gladys (Mrs. Hanford Christensen) of Boyd, Gerhard of Clarkfield, Annie (Mrs. Clarence Christensen) of Clarkfield, Mabel (Mrs. Darrel Brandt) of Granite Falls, Karl of Clarkfield, and Helen (Mrs. Bruce Leasman) of Boyd; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
