Halvor Hegna was born to Halvor and Marie (Eikness) Hegna on June 15, 1902, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He lived in Friendship Township his entire life, with the exception of a short period in the service of his country in World War II. He passed away December 31, 1958, at the Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis, at the age of 56 years. Halvor was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Surviving are two brothers and one sister, namely, Louis of Clarkfield, Mabel (Mrs. Morris Brecke) of St. Paul, and Joseph of Los Angeles, California. Preceding him into eternity were his father, who passed away in 1915, an older brother, Theodore in 1953 and his mother in 1953. One brother died as a small child.
