Halvor Dyrdahl was born in Norway on March 25th, 1870, coming to Hazel Run, Minnesota, with his parents Knute and Anne Dyrdahl when he was eight years old. For the past 75 years he has lived in and around Hazel Run. He was confirmed in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church by Rev. Tostenson. On July 25th, 1906, he was united in marriage to Mollia Gautefall. To this union six children were born: Arda (Mrs. Paul Barnett) of Excelsior, Minnesota, Edith (Mrs. Paul Arneson) of Okinawa, Knute of Minneapolis, Albie, Ruby (Mrs. Russell Halverson) and Luverne, all living in or near Hazel Run. His wife, Mollia, passed away on July 13th, 1941. Since then he has made his home with his son, Luverne, and family. Mr. Dyrdahl passed away suddenly on October 14th, 1953, at the age of 83 years while duck hunting. Besides his mother and father, two sisters and three brothers: John, Sam and Osmund, preceded him in death. He was always very interested and active in community and church affairs. He will be greatly missed by his six children, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, a number of nieces and nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends. Blessed be his memory.
