Halvor C. Johnson was born December 19, 1884, in Vraadal, Telemarken, Norway, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Uraadal. He came to America in 1904. He was united in marriage to Alma Gautefall in 1912. To this union nine children were born: Grace, who died in infancy, Erling, who died at 18, Grace (Mrs. Roy Jorgenson), Evelyn, Mae (Mrs. Ostman) of Minneapolis, Pearl (Mrs. John Mau) of Hazel Run, Helen (Mrs. George Jorgenson) of Minneapolis, Doris (Mrs. William Atkinson) of Bountiful, Utah, and Darrold of Minneapolis. Mr. Johnson farmed in the Hazel Run community until 1944 when he, his wife and two youngest children moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he had since resided. Mr. Johnson passed away on July 13, 1966, at Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his death seven children; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, John and Swen, and a sister Aasne, all of Norway; one sister, Mrs. Olai Gautefall of Hazel Run; and one brother, Ole of Montevideo, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sisters and one brother, beside his two children. IN MEMORY OF HALVOR C.
