Obituary

Alvin Hoel was born May 25, 1890, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Lars and Mathia (Baalson Anderson) Hoel. He grew up on a farm west of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He spent most of his years working on various farms in Canada and the United States. During World War I, he spent his Army time in France. In his active years, he spent time as a cowboy in Montana and a lumberjack in northern Minnesota. Alvin was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. He was never married. Alvin is the last one of his family. Survivors include cousins, neices, and one nephew, Roland Kjos, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Alvin passed away March 30, 1983, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, having spent a number of years at the Clarkfield Care Center.
