IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grant Jertson
Greseth
October 5, 1915 – December 24, 2002
Grant Jertson Greseth was born October 5, 1915, to parents George and Ida (Jertson) Greseth at Madison, Minnesota. He was baptized and received his early Christian education at Hazel Run Lutheran Church, Hazel Run, Minnesota. Following graduation from Clarkfield High School, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in 1933, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp. and later began farming with his father. Grant married Inez Listul on December 2, 1939, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. They were the parents of three sons: David, George, and Harold and daughter Jean. The Greseth's farmed their entire life and lived on the farm they bought in 1941 until they moved to Granite Ridge Place, Granite Falls, Minnesota, in 1999. Grant had many interests. He enjoyed the winters in Arizona, which he and Inez did for 16 years. He loved to golf, spend time at the cabin at the lake, playing cards, reading - especially the Bible, which he read from cover to cover many times. He was involved in his church, Hazel Run Lutheran, where he was a lifelong member. He served on the church council, was involved in Toastmasters, Granite Falls Creamery Board, Hazel Run Produce, Township Board and Soil Conservation Board. Grant passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2002, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 87 years, 2 months, and 19 days. He is survived by his wife, Inez, of Granite Falls and children: David (and Marlys), George (and Sue), all of Hazel Run, Harold (and Lynne) of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Jean (and Joel) Greseth-Kirchner of Park Rapids, Minnesota. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister Violet Moraine; cousin Charles Anderson, who was raised with the family; and step-sister Elvina Gustafson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Edna Winge-McCormick; brother Ira Greseth; Audrey Ohlson, who also was raised with the family; and extended family of Irvin, Howard, Walter, Morris and Doris Listul. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
